Francesco Rubinato’s passion for ancient writing tools together with the possession of a very valuable collection of original documents of the XVII and XVIII centuries, vintage nibs, inks and fountain pens, led to the idea of taking inspiration from those treasures of the past and bring them back for the use of the customers of nowadays.

He had a project to realize glass pens with glass writing nibs in place of the usual metal nibs. Thanks to expert artisans and craftmen from the near city of Venice this was soon made and with the passing of time the offer to his shop’s customers increased with a variety of gift boxes, writing sets, calligraphic inks and classic desk accessories such as inkwells, blotters, pen-stands. All objects are made in Italy by expert craftsmen, and many are made on our original design.

To answer to the increasing market demands he founded the Company in 1990, it is based in Treviso – North-East of Italy, 40 kms from Venice. From a small shop in downtown Treviso the Rubinato s.r.l. with the passing of time and thanks to the partecipation in the creative projects of Patrizia Rizzato has become a large Company very well known in all the world.

The Rubinato s.r.l. today extends on more than 1.500 sq.m., it continues evolving thanks to forefront solutions and the will to offer to its customers always the most accurate services and high quality standards products. Latest technology and manufacturing equipment has improved the quality of products and extended the offers to customers. Some of the technological innovations include UV printing machine, laser engraving machine, printing plotter and cutting plotter. Our goal is to bring expert craftmanship and the know-how from a long lasting tradition at the highest levels.

Inside the company there is a small craft laboratory where all our inks are prepared. Inks are water based and non-toxic. Among the variety of different inks we offer there are special scented inks prepared using natural fragances with handmade labels decorated with delicate dried flowers.

A very important part of the production is dedicated to the engraving of brass seals. Various styles and a wide selection of packagings and seal wax colors can satisfy the requests of all customers.
